ResearchChallenge2014

From UBC Wiki

Dear Researchers,

I'm looking forward to meeting you for the literature review session on March 12, 2014.

We'll focus on searching PubMed - the open access database from the National Library of Medicine. You can access it without a password at pubmed.gov.

We will also use the MESH database for Medical Subject Headings -- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh

In preparation for the session here are a few ideas:

  • Do you have a memory stick? Bring it to the session to save articles.

Most of the articles that you need will be available from the wonderful Electronic Health Library of British Columbia. At the session we will use this link -- http://www.vch.ca/your_health/library-services/library-services---electronic-resources/online-catalogues-and-Journals

What if the article is not in the eHLbc collection? Nurses will be able to obtain additional articles from Helen Randall Library. UBC Library will also supply articles. This page from UBC Library is a useful starting point for requests -- http://search.library.ubc.ca/#databases

And here's a handy worksheet for your search [[1]]

See you soon!
