Orchard Commons is a first-year residence at UBC Vancouver. It consists of two high-rise towers: 19-storey tall Braeburn House, and 21-storey tall Bartlett House. Inside the base of Bartlett House is Open Kitchen, the residence's dining hall; Hero, a coffee shop; and the residence commonsblock. Together, the two houses have 1,047 beds, all on mixed-gender floors. All rooms except for special needs and RA rooms are connected single style. Orchard Commons is noted for its exceptional height, hotel-like aesthetic, and panoramic views of the campus, Vancouver, the Coast Mountains, Vancouver Island, and the Strait of Georgia. The residence also has a unique floor lounge layout - each lounge is spread over three storeys. Orchard Commons is connected to Vantage College, home to an ESL transition program at UBC.
