Library:Music, Art & Architecture Library

The Music, Art and Architecture (MAA) Library is located on levels 3 and 4 of the north wing of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. It supports the study, research and library instruction needs of the faculty, students and staff in the School of Music, the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory, the School of Architecture & Landscape Architecture, and the School of Community & Regional Planning.


Research Help and Circulation Services are available at the Information Desk on level 3. For more information (including current hours) please visit our [1].


The ASRS, UBC Library’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System is also located in the Music, Art and Architecture Library. ASRS Requests can be made online through the Library catalogue and are available for pick-up at the Circulation Services counter of the level 3 Information Desk. Please note that items will usually be available for pickup within approximately 15 minutes between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and after 30 minutes at all other opening hours. If you are travelling far to pick up your item, it is recommended that you call first to ensure your item is available: (604) 822-8149.


In addition to the subject areas listed above, the collection of the MAA Library also contains library and archival science, mathematics, statistics, computer science and older humanities and social sciences materials. Please note that basic reference services for these subject areas are available at the MAA Library Research Help desk; research help for more complex queries can be found at Woodward and Koerner Libraries.
