Course Objectives

  1. Prepare and Practice technical presentations
  2. Cultivate research community and culture in applied mechanics
  3. Develop research writing skills required for a proposal, journal article and thesis.
  4. Critically assess the form and content of a research presentation
  5. Evaluate presentation and ask insightful questions (apply critical thinking skills)

Course Format

  1. Meet every alternate Wednesday at 1pm in SCRF1005 for a research seminar by a graduate student, faculty/visiting faculty.
  2. Graduate students will develop research proposal/report and submit to their supervisor towards the end of each term for assessment.
