Do you want to know about Chemistry?!?

Welcome to "What's Chem like at UBC"

Chemistry at UBC is not an easy feat. If you're looking to challenge your mind and meet tons of great people in the same place as you, then Chemistry at UBC is for you! It's a gruelling yet fantastic program. The professors are excellent and they aren't going to let you take the easy way out.

Here's a list of advice if you want to join the prestigious faculty that is UBC Chem:

• You must be willing to pull various all nighters writing lab reports
• You HAVE to go visit professors and ask them questions when you are confused. This is the only way to have good relations and it's a MUST if you ever want a reference letter.
• You have to be willing to take what you can get as a grade- sometimes no matter how hard you try, that A just ain't coming your way.
• Scout out potential friends and people that you can work on assignments with. This will be very beneficial for your learning.
• Keep up to date with readings and assignments. Additionally, do assignments over and over again that way you're ready for midterms.
• You must be willing to go through two 4 hour labs per week. Sounds fun? Not so much.
• Don't forget, always find time to have a beer with some buddies.

Welcome to UBC Chem :)
