Manual for Graduate Teaching Assistants

Pharmacy 351 (P351) is the first in a series of four therapeutics courses taken by students in the B.Sc.(Pharm) program. It is taken by 2nd year pharmacy students, is worth 2 credits, runs from September to December each year, and is delivered to a class of ~225 students.

The content is primarily dermatology, pulmonary and gastrointestinal pharmacotherapeutics.

Each topic area is “streamed” in sequence from pathophysology (P371), to pharmacology (P341), to therapeutics (P351) and patient self-care/non-prescription therapeutics (P361).

All course management is done in the UBC LMS. The course GTA has “Designer” level privileges for the course. Login is via your usual UBC Campus-Wide Login (CWL).

SUBJECT: Your P351 "XXX" session on 23SEPXX
Dear Dr X:
I am the Graduate Teaching Assistant for Pharmacy 351 (Therapeutics I).
In preparation for your session on XXSEPXX at 1400h in PHRM 1101, this is a friendly reminder to email me the handout for the session on or before 1100h on [3 working days before the session]. All students have been asked to read the corresponding chapter in the latest edition of Therapeutic Choices ahead of the session. If you would like them to read additional/different information please let me know.
Note THIS YEAR we will NOT be printing any materials for the students. They are required to access your session materials online and use/print them per their preferences. As we are going all electronic could you please send your handouts as a pdf document in the format of ONE slide per page. If you have trouble creating pdfs please just send me your presentation slides.
Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to receiving your materials on or before [3 working days before the session].
