Summary

Description
English: This diagram represents two different speaker placements on a vertical axis. Speaker placement 1, demonstrates that when the speaker is directly in front of the listener, the ear on the far side (in this diagram the left ear) is in the sound shadow of the head. Speaker placement 2, demonstrates that when the speaker is at an inclined angle, the sound waves are not coming directly the listener and therefore the effects of interaural amplitude difference and interaural time delay cue are lessened.
