               Dear Sir
                      Your favor of the 
25th inst received this morning by the steamer
"Active"  the "Ouzaba" having transferred passengers
and letters to her at Astoria   The sunny south
has just arrived  The Jeanette has just 
finished discharging her goods were not 
in very good order. If there is any of
that [indecipherable] Castile soap in market you can send
me fifty boxes at say from 6 to 7 cents or 25 boxes
at Eight Cents Our Market are firm but dull
the flour will pay me over a dollar a bbl
all around but I will not order any
more just now as I fear we will have to
much here for the demand I have had some
Conversation with Mr Len[eveau] in regard our
beans and we have concluded you had
better sell as I remember the great loss
made by holding the last lot try and
work them off to best advantage
