		       Yours of the 16th recd
The Bark has not yet arrived and I have not
received any intimation of your draf[t] which
will be duly priced   I can buy Soda here for [two]
cents but that wont pay as the duty is one 
half [indecipherable] one per cent.  I shall probably
make up a large order for next steamer
dont want any goods here now

Description: This letter to Royal Fisk was written by J.A. McCrea in Victoria, Vancouver Island on January 20, 1864, and sent on the steamer Pacific.  McCrea wrote that the (steamer) Bark had not yet arrived; discussed the price of soda; and noted he did not need anything at present, but would likely place a large order on the next ship.
