The UBC Common Look and Feel (CLF) includes a utility toolbar at its very top. On the right side is a search box, which by default searches all of UBC. However, this search box can be configured to search only a subdomain. An example use case is when you want the search result to include only pages from your specific website.

If you use the CTLT's Content Management System, this can be easily configured under "Appearance > Theme Options." When you are at the theme options page, scroll down and find the "Site Specific Search" section. In the text field, you can specify which domain you'd like your search results to come from.

Generally, you want to put your domain name here. Let's say your website is at "website.ubc.ca" - that's what you should put in the text field.

If your website has multiple subdomains, (e.g. subdomain1.website.ubc.ca or subdomain2.website.ubc.ca) specifying "website.ubc.ca" will include results from your subdomains as well.

Slideshow shortcode is used to make Spotlight Rotation appear anywhere in your site.

By default Spotlight Rotation is set to appear on the Frontpage, however you can insert it on any page by using a shortcode:

(Note: width and height parameters correspond to image width and size).

Parameters:

* "width" - width of the slideshow
* "height" - height of the slideshow
* "category" - Category of posts to show
* "timeout" - Number of seconds between slides
* "speed" - Speed of slide change-over

The UBC web common-look-and-feel has a number of elements. The CLF Base theme makes it easy to configure these elements through its theme options.

== The UBC Common-look-and-feel (CLF) Elements ==

In the header, there are the "A Place of Mind" button, the name of the over-arching unit (such as a faculty), and the name of the website itself. There are a number of options for colours in the header as well.

In the footer, there are two sets of contact information. One set is for the over-arching unit, and the other is for the unit itself.

Other CLF elements include the search bar and megamenu dropdown (the "Campuses", "UBC Directories" and "UBC QuickLinks" buttons).

In the header, there are the "A Place of Mind" button, the name of the over-arching unit (such as a faculty), and the name of the website itself. There are a number of options for colours in the header as well.

In the footer, there are two sets of contact information. One set is for the over-arching unit, and the other is for the unit itself.
