Yes, it has to be thicker than 10 cm and they also have to specify characteristics such as base saturation higher than 80% for it to be a chernozemic Ah and therefore a Chernozem, because that is not specified, the soil in this example is a Brunisol.

Because ammonium is a weak acid and it is converted to nitrate through nitrification, I am assuming soil pH will increase since there will be less of the acid present. Is this right? If not, what is the correct answer?

The lab manual says to meet in the UBC farm for lab 8; however, it's not being taken into consideration that if we have a class right before the lab it is not possible to make it to the farm in just 10 minutes, nor is it prudent to miss a lecture the week before final exams in order to be able to get to the farm on time. I was wondering what we can do about this. Thank you

For 2a, is the matric potential just the negative tension at that depth, so -1.10?
2c, can water flux density be negative?
-1.10+1.30/0.28-0.16=positive and using that into the flux equation would give a negative flux
