About

I am a year one international student in the UBC Vantage College program. I am a faster learner, and I am interested in various types of music and languages. Communicating with different people in their first languages provides me a deeper understanding of their unique experiences. I am fluent in Mandarin and English, and also speak some Korean and French. My dream is that one day I can travel around the world.

Music

I am a huge fan of Funk and Reggae music. These types of music help me release my stress and make me feel joy. My favourite musical instrument are the drums, and I have played them for more than ten years; they are the indispensable role in my life. I enjoy listening to live house music and I also participated in a few concerts as a drummer when I was in China.

Awards/Recognitions

1. Certificate of Distinction for ranked in the top 25% of contestants the Mathematics Contest “Cayley Contest” of Waterloo University in 2017.
2. Chinese Literacy Camp for national secondary students in 2015. Jointly held by Singapore literary society & Raffles girls’ school. My work was published in Lianhe Zaobao.

Volunteer Experience/School Activities

1. I have served as a Teen Program Assistant in the Teen Program of Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, since 2016. I have completed 30 volunteer hours.
2. Certificate of Marathon Runner Award for participating in “The Run To 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics”. I completed a total of 4 activity hours in Vancouver, BC in 2018.
3. Certificate of Appreciation for contributing 7 hours to the “Lanterns in the Garden 2018” in Vancouver, BC.
4. Letter of recognition for organizing the registration at the “Golden Maple International Film Festival” in Vancouver, BC in 2018.
5. Letter of recognition for assisting in the promotion of crosstalk performance art at “Yue Yun Peng North American Tour Vancouver Show” in Vancouver, BC in 2018.
