I come from China and just been here for about 1 month. I am an optimistic and confident person who is willing to make new friends. In daily life, I am very willing to help the students around me to solve their problems.
I am fond of fitness. I go to a gym around the village with my roommate every day. As we all know, fitness can bring us many benefits, not only physical health but also personality charm. A good figure can make you dress more elegant, walk more confident and attract girls' attention. My ultimate goal is to have muscles like Schwarzenegger. I know it's hard, and it means I have to keep going to the gym no matter how tired I am. I have been working on fitness for two months and although it is still in a weak stage, I am confident of keeping on and become the person I want to be.
Academic Goals and Interests
When I was in primary school, my dream is being a detective. You must notice my English name is Sherlock, that is because I am attracted by Sherlock Holmes's intelligence and brave and I want to be an extraordinary detective like him at that time.
My recent study goal is to get excellent scores in Vantage course and transfer to economics in my sophomore year. The reason why I choose economics as my major is that influenced by my family, my father often takes me to attend some business negotiation dinners, which make me develop a strong interest in the business field since I was a child.
In the future, I will tend to work in the business region especially about Hotel Management. My father has a small hotel Chengdu, so I would like to help him manage it after graduating.
School Activities
When I was in Grade 11, I participated in the sports meeting and got the second in the 400-meter race. Last year, I participated in the club exhibition competition held by our school. As the Vice President of the cooking club, I led the members and won the title an of excellent club. I introduced our club culture and the main theme to the judges, and then cooked several Chinese traditional dishes with my members. Finally, we got praise from every judge. During the 2018 winter show, we performed a class drama show. I played the leading actor and presented a very wonderful performance with others’ cooperation. In the end, we won the unanimous recognition and warm applause from foreign teachers and students.
In my third year of high school, I also participated in the production and acted in a short film of Hunger Game. Although the production is a little rough, but with our superb acting and interesting plot and won the teachers and students praise.
Volunteer Experience/Community Involvement
Personally, I think the most important and meaningful activity for me is to be a volunteer in the Easyke International Academic Advisor Roadshow Zhengzhou. What made me curious and interested in the activity was the public speaking part, and it was also the reason why I applied for the volunteer. The activity was held in Meridien Munich Hotel on November 11th, 2018. It was a novel and interesting task for me, as I had never been known or participated in such work before. After putting on my uniform, I went to the conference hall. Firstly, my main task was to bring the students and their parents to the main conference hall. Then I worked with other volunteers, distributed pamphlets and notebooks to the audience. Since there are many booklets and a few volunteers, in order to finish the distribution in the shortest time, we came up with the method of assembly line work. Next, it came to the most attractive part-public speaking. The lecturer was a professor at Northwestern University in the United States. He gave us a full account of the main strategies of speech and methods to improve our confidence. During his presentation, I translated some professional terms to students’ parents and I went on stage to improvise a performance. The professor asked me to act as a wedding host and selected two classmates to act as the bride and groom. I held a wedding for them according to the wedding procedure in my memory, including the wedding vows and the exchange of wedding rings. This activity is a very unforgettable experience for me. I not only improved my oral English, learned how to work as a team, but also learned how to give an excellent speech.
Music, Athletics, etc.
In May, I organized a class soccer team. As we all know, diet is very important for an athlete. Two months before the school soccer game, my team and I refused to eat any junk food and we ate a lot of beef for lunch to replenish our physical strength. I also made a very thorough training plan and competition strategy for the game. Since most of my teammates are new to football, I led them to practice the sense of ball at first. When they have mastered some basic skills, we practiced confrontation in groups. Our tactics were defensive, closing down the ball and attacking back. Our achievement proved that this strategy worked well. Finally, we got the third prize. We felt very excited. They lifted me with their hands and threw me into the air to congratulate. I take pride in it and I can still remember how we overcame all the difficulties during that period. That is an unforgettable memory of my life.
Awards/Recognition
As a member of our school football club, I participated in the Soccer Champions League held in Zhengzhou from May 12th to May 14th in 2018. Finally, our team won the champion among the eight teams.
I won the group award of the Best Merchant in the 2017 Chinese High School Business Challenge.
