Medicalization of death

Death as we know may be scoped and discussed under a spectrum of knowledge: psychological, humanistic, philosophical. But for the purpose of our discussion of the medicalization of death we will define death in physiological and clinical terms and discuss it under a sociological issues.

Medicalization is the process by which human conditions and problems come to be defined and treated as medical conditions, and thus become the subject of medical study, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment.
