Biographies:
Jiaqing Yan
Jiaqing Yan is a student at UBC. She has a lot of academic assignments to do every semester. To relieve stress, shopping in downtown or Richmond with friends is what she does as a hobby every month, and disposable fashion clothes attract her a lot due to cheap prices and various styles. With the knowledge learned in VANT 149, she is very interested in studying sustainability related to disposable clothes with her group members.
Jihee Seo
Jihee Seo is an undergraduate student at UBC. Through her first year studying psychology and sociology, she developed an interest in youth’s motives behind their behaviours. She used to be a compulsive buyer who purchases every trending clothing each season, but she developed a sense of sustainability and gained the knowledge of environmental impacts of fashion industries throughout the first year in UBC. She is excited to share the knowledge with other students to spread awareness of environmental issues regarding fast-fashion brands that mainly target young consumers like us!
Ellyn Chen
Ellyn is a freshman at UBC. She loves playing tennis, cooking, and hanging out with friends! As a young consumer, fast-fashion brands are attractive to her and she is quite into shopping. She has never considered that disposable fashion could cause such destructive consequences to Earth… Fortunately, VANT 149 course helped her to learn more about sustainability! Cheyenne Zhou
Cheyenne is a first-year university student at UBC. She works actively with team members and lives with enthusiasm. She likes to play the piano and dance with her friends. Especially, she values family travel the most. She has always been interested in environmental issues such as recycling and pollution. She plans to study further on sustainability and environmental protection in the future
