How Information is Cited
This dictionary does not appear to cite the source of its information. Some entries are attributed to other language materials with italicized notes at the end of the entry. These are usually marked 'wékaⁿ' (meaning 'story') or 'uyáⁿwe' (meaning 'song') followed by the title of the song or story in quotation marks. Authors of and/or contributors to these works are usually not cited.
Where is Information Coming from
Some information in this dictionary comes from GoodTracks' own knowledge as an Ioway/Otoe person and speaker of Chiwere. Information also comes from GoodTracks' research on the language and collection of audio recordings from Chiwere Elders. GoodTracks also used previously written language materials, some of which are identified by their title, though none have a publication year and very few include an author.

How are Entries Organised
Entries are organized alphabetically by English or Chiwere, depending on the directionality of the word list. The dictionary is available as a collection of digital PDFs. Each PDF is roughly one letter of the alphabet and one direction. For example, all entries starting with the letter A with the directionality of English-Chiwere are one PDF document, and all entries starting with the letter A with the directionality of Chiwere-English are another PDF document.
Entries contain the headword in either English or Chiwere, other related terms or variations, the word classification (e.g., adjective, noun, verb, etc.), the gloss/translation, and example phrases. Some entries also include a note on the source of the entry, usually marked with either 'wékaⁿ' (meaning 'story') or 'uyáⁿwe' (meaning 'song') followed by the title of the song or story in quotation marks. These rarely include an author's name or publication date. Entries in the English-Chiwere section have dialect markings and a phonetic pronunciation for all Chiwere words. Many entries in the Chiwere-English section contain a note offering information about the headword's place in a word or sentence structure, pluralization, or other grammatical information. Some entries in this section contain more information in Chiwere (italicized), but we are unable to determine what this information is about.
