VideoScribe is an animation software that allows instructors to create animation videos on a virtual whiteboard. Instructors can choose from an extensive library of shapes, images and text fonts, customize the animations, and add voiceovers and soundtracks.

How do I get started?

To get started with VideoScribe, please use this form to request a VideoScribe license. Currently UBC only licenses the educational version of VideoScribe. Purchase information for the Pro version can be found at

If using for a course activity, instructors may use the form or email the LT Hub to request licenses for all students in their course. Licenses are available to all UBC Students and Employees.

Once you're set up, you can reference VideoScribe's Getting Started Guide and help answers.

What support is available?

Support is provided by the Learning Technology Hub and assisted by members in the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Media Learning Community and industry experts from UBC Studios. Additional expertise is available during regular DIY help sessions.
