The Audio-Visual team is working on updating and testing classroom equipment in preparation for the return to campus in September 2021. We will update this website with more information in August 2021.

How do I get started?

First, determine the context in which you will use capture media. Media Capture is available for capturing lectures in three main ways:

  • Built-in Classroom Capture: Certain classrooms are equipped with a built-in lecture-capture system, which allows for automated scheduled recordings. More information coming August 2021.
  • Self-Managed Capture: We are working on instructions for capturing lectures with Zoom.
  • Full-Serviced Capture: Some faculty instructional support teams or UBC IT Audio Visual may provide capturing services for special events such as guest lectures or presentations, using portable lecture-capture equipment. Please note a fee could be associated with these services.

What support is available?

Support is provided by the AV Helpdesk as well as your instructional support unit. More information on Campus Media Capture services will be released in August 2021, as work is underway preparing classrooms for Return to Campus.
