Feedback from 6/6 Meeting

General Feedback / Follow-up Actions

  • Themes: Make them snappier
  • Learning Outcomes: Rewrite them to be more generally applicable to other case studies
  • LOs: Rewrite them with reference to Bloom's Taxonomy - ref 1, ref 2
  • Cases: Match the same level of detail in Case Study #1
  • Cases: Gender-non-specific pronouns help students identify with the case study
  • Discussion Questions
    • Creation Process for Education Project:
      • 1) Come up with 10 possible questions
      • 2) Group questions so that they build on each other
    • Link a new story or policy for students to look at to stimulate discussion. Can also use blog posts or Twitter threads
    • Arrange questions in order of complexity
      • Easy start questions e.g. "How would you feel ..."
  • Create and include an activity section for each case study - "Web of Accountability" mapping activity
    • Activity instructions:
      1. List out stakeholders in this case
      2. Imagine that you are that stakeholder. What are your concerns and feelings?
    • Create a separate worksheet/activity page with a stick figure in the centre --> to be linked after the case section in every case study
  • Research Twitter hashtags & trawl Twitter for other resources to use

Case Study #1 Feedback

  • Feedback on the Narrative
    • End on a more ambiguous note, e.g. at 'Kai is not sure'
    • Add in more contextual information about Kai (e.g. being a model student)
    • Add back detail about feeling lonely and isolated
    • In Carol's (preceptor) dialogue, add in bit about offering to reach out to faculty/Office of Experiential Education
  • Possible Discussion Questions:
    • Address indirectly identifying information part -- does the preceptor/whoever know that Kai inadvertently disclosed (indirectly) identifying information?
    • How do you think this could have been handled from the start?
    • How would a situation like this affect you?
    • Pharmacy community is very tight-knit: where else could this information go? What could happen?
    • How could this impact Kai's relationship with the preceptor and faculty?
    • What advice would you give someone in the same position who was looking to vent online about a similar scenario?
