You’ve got a very interesting wiki page going! I really enjoyed reading it. I would suggest instead of just listing other types of eating disorders, to go into detail and explain each one. It may even be a good idea to link an external source to each type so that people can easily find read more about it if they would like it. Also, I think it would be beneficial to expand on the treatment section, listing a few treatments and/or linking different resources where individuals can get help. Also, I am not sure if this is something that interests you but you can also go into how eating disorders are different/similar for boys and girls and even how they are different depending on one’s age. Other than that I think you have a really great page going! It is very well organized, interesting, thought-out, and easy to follow!
Hello! This is a very interesting topic and I enjoy the way you set up the page, it is very easy to read. I think it would be interesting to further expand on the topic of family/peer kinds of causal relationships. There are many studies demonstrating that social support can both help but also negatively effect one’s health. In addition, it would be interesting to see the differences between men and women in their rates of developing an eating disorder. Maybe looking into which causal relationships have a larger influence on the different sexes!
I am really interested in your choice of topic! I think you have a great start on your wiki page. It has a lot of detailed sub sections that you can really expand your topic on! Another section you can add that I believe is important towards eating disorders are the pre-cursors towards it. How does a person become anorexic? Is it because of peer pressure? or is it because of low self esteem? I think it would good to touch on the how eating disorders begin with people because everyone has different reasons for them. Good luck, you're doing really well!
Hi! I'm really looking forward to see the final product of your wiki page. It's a topic I'm really interested in, and I think you have a great foundation, especially with acknowledgement of eating disorders beyond the ones people immediately think of. Some other things you could consider adding would be to mention that people can be both Anorexic and Bulimic, or suffer from other combinations of eating disorders, as I think that's a point that many people don't realize or would be confused by. For the health effects, you could consider addressing the effects that are specific to certain eating disorders (i.e. tooth decay, esophageal varices with bulimia; hair loss, etc.). Another common issue in the research and misconceptions around eating disorders is the focus on it as only effecting women. While this is an issue more heavily effecting women, the discussion surrounding it often alienates men, which is problematic, so could be an interesting point for inclusion.
As for treatment, there is a great resource in Vancouver called The Looking Glass Foundation. Their website offers some resources regarding eating disorders and treatment, if you wanted to take a look. Good luck, I think you'll have a great wiki page!
This is a really great start to your wiki page! I would suggest elaborating further on the "other" types of eating disorders, as I think some of them can be quite common (ie. orthorexia).
Similarly to what the other commenter mentioned, elaborating further on treatment options. Although there is no "cure" for eating disorders (meaning you can't just get a pill to relieve the disease), it is treatable through rehab programs and hospitalization programs. Maybe mentioning that and elaborating would be perfect.
In addition, add citations to your definitions of some common eating disorders. This will provide readers resources if they want to look into that information further on their own, rather than just having a short description and summary.
Overall, I really like your headings and organization of the page! It makes it very easy to follow and I think it has great information on it so far.
Hello! This is a really great Wiki Page so far. It's interesting to read about the different types of eating disorders in a classified arrangement because I was not previously familiar with some of them. In moving forward with your Wiki Page, I would recommend expanding a bit on each kind of "Casual Relationship." Additionally, with the "Treatment" section you can expand a bit about support groups or hospitalization cases. It could also be interesting to read about the history of eating disorders (when did it start to become a 'big deal') - an article about this is "https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/evolutionary-psychiatry/201112/history-eating-disorders" And/or, at which points in time have we seen spikes (increases) in eating disorders? Maybe you could add more statistics.
