Creating a new page on the wiki is now easier than ever. Please note that you will have to log-in to the wiki with your CWL before you can create or edit the UBC Wiki.

Before You Begin

Make sure that any pages you create are in the right space of the wiki. For example, course related material should go in the Course space. If you're not sure what space your page belongs in, you might want to check out this helpful chart. The Sandbox is a good place to begin and you can always move or rename your page later. The namespace prefix (such as Course:) should be left in the input form. Please see Help:Namespaces for more information on how the UBC Wiki is organized.

To create a subpage using the below forms, write the name of the parent page, add a forward slash, and then the name of the child page (the proper syntax is Prefix:Parent Page/Child page). Please note the page titles are case sensitive. Please see Help:Subpages for more info.

Create a New Sandbox Page

Create a New Sandbox Page
  • Simply add the title of your new page after the prefix Sandbox: in the form below and click on the create page button.

  • To add an already existing page to the Sandbox, use the move function and rename the page with the "Sandbox:" prefix. For example, a page named test would be renamed Sandbox:Test. See Help:Moving a page for more information.

Create a New Mainspace Page

Create a New Main Space Page
  • Unlike the other spaces on the UBC Wiki, content in the root of the wiki does not require a prefix. Simply add the title of your new page to the form below and click on the create page button.

  • To add an already existing page to the mainspace, use the move function and rename the page without a prefix.

Create a New Course Page

Create a New Course Page
  • Simply add the title of your new page after the prefix Course: in the form below and click on the create page button. Then follow the directions on the editing page. While you may use this space the way it suites you the best, we require users to at least use the following format for creating new course page: Course:MATH101, where Course: is the namespace prefix, MATH is the subject code and 101 is the course number.

.
  • This form loads an infobox template to help organize your course page. You can delete the infobox code if you do not wish to use it.
  • To add an already existing page to the course space, use the move function and rename the page with the "Course:" prefix. For example, a page named ABCD123 would be renamed Course:ABCD123. See Help:Moving a page for more information.

Create a New Documentation Page

Create a New Documentation Page
  • Simply add the title of your new page after the prefix Documentation: in the form below and click on the create page button.

  • To add an already existing page to the documentation space, use the move function and rename the page with the "Documentation:" prefix. For example, a page named Vista would be renamed Documentation:Vista. See Help:Moving a page for more information.
