Sandbox:Oprah debate

Oprah vs. Ellen has been one of the major debates for daytime television viewers for a long time. For years, they were slotted against each other, forcing fans of both to flips rapidly from channel to channel.

Perhaps one of the smartest marketing moves on both parts was when Ellen campaigned to get on the cover of O magazine in 2009. For months, Ellen would beg Oprah to let her be a part of the cover. Finally, when Oprah agreed, a giant production was made by both women. The magazine cover reveal was huge, with 4 magazines to please fans. The women also made appearances on each others' shows.

As Oprah ended her talk show last year, the scheduling conflict no longer exists.
