Whilst walking around Gastown, Aly stumbled across a lovely quaint and charming shop called Cafe de Flore. She ordered her latte and took out her pen and journal. As she was writing her pros and cons list, she overheard a couple talking about how the Corteauld Gallery in London, England was looking for a new event coordinator for the year. Aly knew from her comparative literature classes at the University of Western Ontario that many of her favourite painters were exhibited in this world famous gallery. Too be able to work alongside the world famous painting of Renoir was like a dream come true! I have to ask these people about the job. "Hi sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but over hear about the job in England. Could you please tell me more?". Aly said with passion and intrigue. " I am head of the arts education department at the gallery and we need someone to coordinate special events such as guest lecturers, new exhibit openings, student groups, magazine photo shoots etc. You can imagine in London the different needs of the building. What an incredible experience to be able to work at the world famous gallery in the center of London! I can make a bit of cash and use it as my base whilst traveling throughout Europe and other nearby countries. Aly's heart began to pulse and she became incredibly excited to investigate this opportunity. Perhaps she was deviating from academia, but the world was her classroom and she was beginning to believe that she was mastering her own life! What could be more incredible than that!
