Introduction

Welcome to the LMS Hands-On Product Testing! Thank you for taking some time in testing Moodle 2.0. This document will guide you through the evaluation process. If you are at any of the on-campus testing labs, feel free to ask the Lab Observer any questions.

Getting Started

Before you start, please make sure that you have the userID, password and the evaluation form ready.

For on-campus testers, these will be given to you by the Lab Observer. For Remote testers, the information was sent to you via email.

Please login at: https://eval.moodle.ctlt.ubc.ca/login/index.php (Figure 1)

You will be brought to the Moodle 2.0 Dashboard where you can see your courses, tasks, and announcements.

Under My Courses in the centre lower screen, click on Evaluation Course - Climate Change. You will be evaluating the product as if you designing or instructing the course. (Figure 2)

Navigating Moodle 2.0

In order to make edit or add information to the Moodle 2.0 platform complete the following steps:

  1. Turn editing on using the Edit button in the top-right hand corner of the central panel.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the drop down menus in the Centre Channel of Moodle, you will need to use these to add resources and activities to the LMS.
  3. Next to each of the activities and resources notice the small icons. These icons allow you to edit, delete and hide resources when required.
  4. As part of your testing you may also be required to navigate the Blocks on both the right and left sidebar.
