GRSJ224/healthymasculinities

From UBC Wiki

From a young age, children are socialized into their respective gender roles. Children are taught to see the difference in what is defined as feminine and what is defined as masculine within their culture as well as all the roles and behaviors that are expected of each category.Masculinity is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with boys and men. In a western context, masculinity is defined by attributes such as, but not limited to self-reliance, emotional control, and sexual promiscuity. Healthy masculinity is the antonym of hegemonic masculinity and toxic masculinity.
