Economic Effects of the Vancouver Olympics
The government of the host country invests lots of budgets to operate the Olympics. Sponsors invest much money as well and they occupy the market during the Olympics.
However, the governments are eager to have the world are of its improved quality. So, it takes much cost to prepare for and operate the Olympic games. They want to make more economic effect after the game as well.
According to the "Economic Aspects and the Summer Olympics", Kasimati (2003) insisted that host cities place great emphasis on the economic implications of the Olympics and the tourism and generate income.
The Olympics cannot make benefits actually, because of the large cost.
In particular, winter Olympics games are harder to make benefits than summer games.
Moreover, sometimes there are differences of the economical expectation between the government and citizens.
generally, the governments' expectation tends to larger than that of citizens.
