When you post or comment on the course blog site, your avatar will apear next to your post. Please take a moment to customize your avatar to help everyone identify you as an individual in the discussion threads. You can use a picture of yourself, or choose an image that represents you in some way. There are two ways to add your avatar, uploading your picture to UBC Blogs or setting up a Gravatar.

Uploading a picture to UBC Blogs

Log in to http://blogs.ubc.ca and under My Account drop-down menu in the top right corner of the page, click Edit My Profile
Select "Profile" and then click "Change Avatar"
Click Browse look for an image on your computer
Select upload image
Use the crop tool to select the area of your image you want to use and click crop

Setting up a Gravatar

Go to www.gravatar.com
In the "Get Your Gravatar" box, enter the email address you used to sign up for UBC Blogs
Follow the instructions to upload your image and then this image will be used as your avatar anytime you use your email address to leave a comment on a Wordpress blog, even if it is not on UBC Blogs.
