When you post or comment on the course blog site, your avatar will apear next to your post. Please take a moment to customize your avatar to help everyone identify you as an individual in the discussion threads. You can use a picture of yourself, or choose an image that represents you in some way. There are two ways to add your avatar, uploading your picture to UBC Blogs or setting up a Gravatar.

Uploading a picture to UBC Blogs

  • Log in to http://blogs.ubc.ca and under My Account drop-down menu in the top right corner of the page, click Edit My Profile
  • Select "Profile" and then click "Change Avatar"
  • Click Browse look for an image on your computer
  • Select upload image
  • Use the crop tool to select the area of your image you want to use and click crop

Setting up a Gravatar

  • Go to www.gravatar.com
  • In the "Get Your Gravatar" box, enter the email address you used to sign up for UBC Blogs
  • Follow the instructions to upload your image and then this image will be used as your avatar anytime you use your email address to leave a comment on a Wordpress blog, even if it is not on UBC Blogs.
